Summary
Editors can upload content that allows for free reuse or is made by themselves.
Editors uploading copyrighted content must follow fair use, by: including as little as possible; following our Content Guidelines; and being accurately sourced.
General Content
Editors must ensure that all content they include either:
- qualifies under the fair use exception;
- has explicit permission by the copyright owner to be used;
- is in the public domain or is under a license that permits free reuse;
- or was created by the editor themselves.
All editors should read, follow, and enforce the guidelines on this page to ensure we do not fall into legal trouble. Page on this Wiki not in compliance with copyright will be brought into compliance with it promptly with the removal or editing of the contravening content.
Corepunk
We recognise that Maxbuff Coöperatie U.A. (hereon referred to as Maxbuff) owns the copyright to all of their works, including, but not limited to, Corepunk and Artificial Core.
Therefore, this Wiki must only use Maxbuff's works such that it does not infringe on their copyright. This can be achieved in two ways:
This Wiki does not have Maxbuff's explicit permission, hence editors must follow fair use.
Fair Use
Fair use should be considered on a case-by-case basis, but some relevant factors in determining fair use include:
- The amount and substantiality of the original works that were copied.
- Articles containing direct quotes must be clearly marked as quotes, denoted with templates such as
{{quote}}
or{{blockquote}}
, quotation marks, or otherwise.
Quotations should be used sparingly, with correct sources, only using a small section of the original content. - Whether the use in question acts as a direct market substitute, and whether potential market harm might exist beyond that of direct substitution.
- Articles should not take the place of Maxbuff's content; it should only be a guide or explanation. It should not be a narrative story.
- Acknowledgement of the source of the copyrighted material.
- Maxbuff's copyrighted material should be accurately sourced as such.
What Editors Can Do
All editors should read, follow, and enforce this policy. Articles not in compliance with this policy should be brought into compliance with it promptly through the removal or editing of the contravening content.
