Usually, the term refers to the persona controlled by the player. Player-controlled characters are customized within the Character Creation process.

Upon adding a new character slot, the process of creating a character begins. This determines their characteristics, such as Hero, Mastery, appearance, and name.
A player's Hero cannot be changed upon creation, but their mastery can change upon reaching Max Level. A character's and name can change.
