A recipe is a list of Crafting Materials used to craft an Item. A recipe is not needed to craft items using the Synthesis Machine.
Acquisition
Most recipes are "learnt" automatically and can be crafted by the player at any time.
Other recipes must be learnt by interacting with a Consumable recipe item. The recipe item tooltip will show all required crafting ingredients and an embedded tooltip of the item being crafted.
Icons
The icon of a recipe item depends on the required crafting profession:
