A recipe is a list of Crafting Materials used to craft an Item. A recipe is not needed to craft items using the Synthesis Machine.

Acquisition

A tooltip for a recipe item.

Most recipes are "learnt" automatically and can be crafted by the player at any time.
Other recipes must be learnt by interacting with a Consumable recipe item and waiting 2 seconds for 'Recipe identification'. The recipe item tooltip will show all required crafting ingredients and an embedded tooltip of the item being crafted.

The icon of a recipe item depends on the required profession:
